Summary:
Lily didn't just happen to fall in love with James. It
wasn't an accident, but a long drawn out process that grew out of the
relationships of the people around them. And when it came down to it, even Lily
and James couldn't fight fate.
Review:
This has been the first James/Lily story I’ve read. I’ve always stayed away because I don’t
always like sad stories and I know how things end for this couple, and it’s
very tragic. However, this story has really
sucked me in and helped me see James, Lily, and all the Marauders in a new way!
This story has done a fantastic job showing the balance of
James Potter’s character of being a carefree prankster who can be quite arrogant
and yet a hopeless romantic when it comes to Lily. And to see Lily’s character grow in depth and
I learned to really love her and understand her even more.
As a work in progress, the story has not gotten to the
ending I know is coming so I can’t say yet how that was handled. I am starting to wish it would become an AU
story so these characters I have come to love could be around to see their son
Harry off to school and beyond. I’m
still holding out hope, but I’m not holding my breath. I’ll update here later as the story
progresses, but so far I have really enjoyed this story and have fallen in love
with the Marauders Era.
